What do we consider cheating?

At Corrupt Interactive Inc. we want to make sure that each game session is fair to all users who play the game. We have 1000's of honest players who follow the rules that are set out in front of them but we wanted to make sure there were no grey area's. Please Read Carefully, as of the date of this posting, ignorance is not a defense. The following is what we consider cheating and what we intend to do about it:

Macro Usage and Robotic Player (BOT) Usage

One of the most common complaints we get in the games is in regards to the use of Macro's or Bot's. These allow all players to stay online indefinitely without having to actually be there. Because not everybody has access to this type of technology or has the ability to write code we consider this a CHEAT and is NOT ALLOWED in our games. We will give you a chart of our actions so you will know what the repercussions are if you do break the rules at the end of the posting.

Multiple Account Usage and Registration

Another common problem and cheat is the registration of multiple accounts to further one accounts game ranking. This is considered a CHEAT as well and is not allowed at all. In fact this is one of our main Cheats in the game and we will correct it using the charts at the end of this guide.

A common misconception for players is thinking that if you log into somebody else's account that it is OK. This is not the case, the second you log into somebody else's account your IP and their IP address will show on both accounts which will result in banning when we scan for Multiple Accounts. THIS IS ALSO NOT ALLOWED. You are not allowed to play somebody's account while they are away, if they can't play for a few days etc… DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYBODY. Once somebody logs into your account both you and the person logging in are considered a Multiple Account. This is your only warning!

We cannot help you if your account gets deleted by another member who may have your password from a third party, we cannot help if you have more than 1 IP on your account. We cannot and will not from this point on be held responsible for your account. It is your account only, protect it with all your efforts.

Bug Abuse

By far the most important and most critical cheat in game play is bug abuse. Since we are a live online game coded in a common programming language there tends to be small bugs that can alter game play. We take these seriously and there is nothing you can say or do if we catch you abusing a bug for benefit in the game.

When you find a bug in the game your first step and only step are to report it to us. If we find you have used a bug to enhance your game or disrupt somebody else who is playing, our first move will be to ban you until we see the severity of the bug

IF you know of the bug and not only use it to your advantage BUT ALSO teach somebody else to use it, you will be immediately deleted. When we say deleted we mean that all your efforts in the game will be null and void. Your winning will be void, your medals will be deleted for good, and your username and user id will no longer be allowed in the game. We are taking this seriously. If you don't believe it, try us. This is as serious as it gets here at Corrupt Interactive Inc.

Repercussions

It seems that over the past 3.5 years of Topshift everything we did to curb common cheats and multiple accounts did not work. We are not implementing a Scale into the game called your USER RATING. Guard this with your life as it contributes to how many credits you get or you don't get. The way it works is simple. When you register your account, you have your have your User Rating set at 100%. If you are already registered it is added to your account already. Each time you try and cheat or exploit a bug we will remove a percentage from your User Rating. Keep in mind everybody can see your Rating so guard it again with your life. Once that percentage is removed from your Rating; that same percentage will be removed from your Free Game Credits.

For Example:

Let's say you are getting 10 Free Credits every 10 Minutes with a User Rating of 100% If you exploit a bug or a multiple account etc…and your penalty is -20% and your User Rating drops to 80%, you will now get 20% less credits per interval in the game. That means each 10 minutes you will only get 8 credits. This also effects your maximum stored credits as you will only be able to store the percentage as per your User Rating.

Each User Rating Reduction (URR) depends on the severity of the offence toward the game but below is a chart of what to expect for some of the more common offences:

Additional Notes: This is a very rough idea of what will happen if you choose to cheat in the game. Account deletion means everything is gone, you can't get it back, it is not just banned for the time being it is gone. Medals, Achievements and etc are all gone. This is not something we can return so please be aware of what you are doing.

Bug Abuse, Multiple Account Usage and Macro Usage Voids every prize earnings and winnings that you have had to that date of registration at Corrupt Interactive Inc. games. This is in our Terms of Service and will be enforced.

The User Rating rebuild speed can also be a lot faster depending on the situation, if the user is helpful and is willing to help the game we will move it up faster. We do not play favorites so please do not give us comments like, "XXX was doing it so I thought it was ok!" It is not. Once again ignorance is not a defense.

The best way to have a perfect User Rating is by not cheating, play the game like many do to have fun and win. We watch everything and the Team at Corrupt Interactive Inc. will be enforcing these rules permanently.
